Anyone got any evidence for a god?

The universe exists.

Once it didn't exist.

Scientists tell us it came into existence a finite time ago.

So where did it come from?

Or what acted upon nothing to make it a something?

Call it what you like - but for arguments sake, let's just call it God eh?

Repitition does not an argument make.

thanks for the info, lot to read , to much to discuss.

but got to be a joke when archbishop believes in evolution.
God made all living things including man and women,in 6 days. like it or lump it. evolution is a lie.

unless you recieve christ, you will always doubt all your life, you need him to give you the spirituel eyes, then you will understand, untill then you will be gropeing in the dark.
How do you reconcile the mountain of evidence that goes against what you believe?

I have no doubt in my life, but thank you for your concern.

Joseph comes up with so few original ideas (in fact, no original ideas at all) that he has to keep repeating them to keep his post count up!

Are you stuck on a verse dan.

i am not a bible scholler, but if i can help i will.

No. The Bible is not as complicated as you think. And for every quote you chuck in from your limited reading and blinkered understanding there are 2 to contradict it.

The Bible was written to control and profit from the weak and easily lead.

People like you seem to think it is acceptable to cherry pick the bits you are comfortable with and then say that the rest is there for a bit of padding and not to be considered in a modern world.

Well tough.

You can't have it both ways.

You and Norcon seem to think that repeating the same unsubstantiated drivel will make it more true.

Sorry, but you'll both need to come up with something more convincing than what you've managed so far. My 5 year old is capable of a better debate. Ironically he's at a church school and his mother is bhuddist. According to NorCon she is going to hell. And by your thinking all the billions of her fellow bhuddists are equally screwed. Why happened to all the religionists that were around before the Bible was cobbled together?

Even Even Mike, prize pillock though I think he is has managed form an idea with some semblance of logic. Even if it is non noncommittal tripe.

Perhaps the evidence for God may also lies in that highly advanced civilisations visited our earth many thousands years ago, there is evidence strewn around much on the surface earth and some that had been buried beneath, when you look at the gigantic scale of these mega structures such as the Pyramids, the Temples of Maya civilisation, the mention of what we now call as UFOs have been mentioned in various religions and cultures, we simply cannot dismiss this anymore than we can dismiss Darwin's Evolution theory, may be life was afterall planted on earth by these Alien visitors and our forefathers took them for God or gods, there is not a lot of research that had gone in this but there are some good interesting theories behind these ancient civilisations that according to our present times, some of these structures could not have been build by man on earth with the given technology we had that time.

So how can we dismiss this without a good reason:

Ah, I see I have converted you! :D

I have for a long time been suggesting that visitations by an advanced alien race in the distant past are far more believable than the existence of a supernatural god/man in the clouds.

I think you've just provided evidence of that possibility. Well done!

When you can answqe the conundrum then I will.

When you can answer the conundrum then I will.

The Bible was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit by over 40 different authors from all walks of life: shepherds, farmers, tent-makers, physicians, fishermen, priests, philosophers and kings. Despite these differences in occupation and the span of years it took to write it, the Bible is an extremely cohesive and unified book

Spot on!

2 Timothy 3:16

16- All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

Again spot on.

The Crusades?

The Crusades were purely political and they were justified through religion.

30 Years War?
The thirty years war started out as a religious conflict but the war soon became all about the Bourbon-Habsburg rivalry for European political pre-eminence, and religion was hardly involved.

Also the armies were not 'Protestant' or 'Catholic' armies. But were mostly (although not entirely) made up of marauding and ill-controlled mercenaries drawn from several countries.
Probably heathens who had got fed up scratching themselves!

Sudanese Civil War?

Economic stagnation, drought and lack of resources are the main reasons with this one.

Spain Vs Britain
Political.

Well you seem to be having plenty of problems understanding it.

And for every quote you chuck in from your limited reading and blinkered understanding there are 2 to contradict it.

Give an example then?

I think by repeating, it is a form of brain control to hypnotize us into believing what was written thousands of years ago by people that thought the world was flat.
