Anyone got any evidence for a god?

Of course it is. You believe that everything came from nothing with no purpose then make up scientific laws like:

Every effect must have a cause.

So what caused the universe to happen then?

And you're trying to tell us that your god made everything, pray tell Where T.F. did your god come from? Was he always there? If so that's convenient!

What other explanation is there? Either something was always there or it came from nothing. If it came from nothing - then what acted upon the nothing to make it a something?

That's the conundrum.

In reply to your comment Joe, if there was nothing and then something came along, which is more likely to appear out of thin air, a few rocks floating around the universe OR a supernatural, all powerful being who is capable of creating everything else?

And god made man in his form,so god must look like us,not some kind of mysterious energy.

Sorry, my mistake - Hernandez.

Ah, thank you.

The number of times I have said "Jesus H Christ" (after, for example, hitting my thumb with a hammer) and wondered afterwards what the H stood for.

Are you stuck on a verse dan.

i am not a bible scholler, but if i can help i will.
Can you explain why the bible encourages slavery, murder, corporal punishment, capital punishment, subjugation of women, stoning to death of women, adultery, racism, paedophilia, mass slaughter of people and animals, incest, etc? Do you believe the bible is justified on these things?

That's the old testament. I'm talking about the new testament. I find it very difficult to understand how religious followers so easily ignore these less palatable parts of the bible. If you accept, and quote, the bible as the truth - the word of god - then surely it must all be the word of god. Can you not see how cherry picking the nice bits discredits your argument.
I note this is ignored again. Which just confirms that the bible doesn't hold up under scrutiny and your reliance on it is just empty blind faith with no foundation.

There's the answer Joe. All of the matter in the universe has always been there. Somehow the previous universe collapsed in on itself, before the big bang. Everything in that universe was compressed into a singularity, which then exploded, forming the present universe. This could have happened a lot of times, for all we know (or will never know) Nothing mysterious at all. No God needed . ;) ;)

be more specific, might help, were does it condone such sin,in the new testament,
all unrightouseness is sin, were does it say sin is ok .

I agree to some extent, on the fact either all the matter or all the energy had always been there, as I believe the state of nothing does not exist, as for singularity and stuff collapsing on itself and then exploding is an Unproven theory of course.

So whatever that something is that has always been there, let's give it a name.

Let's call it God. We will never know its true nature so why bother trying.

Anyway the theory you have just given was thought up by the Indians aeons ago. The Days and Nights of Brahma.

The Big Bang was in the Bible all the time (In the beginning there was darkness).

It's about time scientists wised up.

why does it have to be the New Testament? are you renouncing the god of the Old Testament ? how about when god destroyed sodom, and he saved the one righteous man in the town, and he had sex with both his daughters after retreating to a cave.

Come off it. You could almost stick a pin in it! God and Jesus were more than happy to see people drowned, cast into fires or have their hands cut off, eyes gauged out. Anybody that denied god would be horribly destroyed in many different ways. Entire populations were violently destroyed or tortured for eternity. If they weren't murdering people in large numbers they were crippling them, torturing them or having them eaten alive by animals and insects. Do you find any of these things reasonable.? No, thought not. The old testament was updated because it became an embarrassment and I predict the new one will get a makeover at some point as well.

I reckon the original bible actually started with those immortal words,,,,,, " Once upon a time." ;) ;) ;) ;)

(then the scribes thought "They'll never believe this." )
