Last year, a Lithuanian Lady came to my door step, she looked very sad, yet remained composed, and spoke softly in little English she spoke, explained to me how she is trying to raise some cash for her daughter, who needs Chemotherapy in her country, and she gave me a figure that so far she has managed to raise something like 5K and needs a little more so that her treatment for cancer can begin.
I looked at her saw some tears in her eyes, still had some doubts in my heart if she wasn't just shedding crocodile tears, using her daughter as an excuse to beg for money. But then i thought, those tears may be worth a fiver, so just gave her a fiver! I also told her if she wanted help f0r her daughter, she should offer her prayers to God, and I will do the same for her, I asked if she believed in a God, she said yes she comes from a Christian Orthodox family, and that she would pray for her won daughter.
I gave her a fiver and wished her daughter well and recover from her cancer, and promised her that I would pray for her too, but as for money I could only offer her a fiver as I had my second thoughts about her story.
Today she came back, I recognised her straight away, she said she came to thank me for my money I donated and for my prayers for her daughter, who is now in remission from cancer.
She then said, thats it, I just wanted to tell you the good news, and basically came to thank me. She said she lived down the bottom of my street, which i did not know, as I had not seen her regularly. She told me which house number she lived in, and I asked her if I could pop in to see her daughter, and she said sure, so i will be popping in to see her soon, if necessary if she needs more cash help I am willing to offer her some more money, this time a good deal more, as I won't have my doubts.
As I said God works in mysterious ways, he always help those who ask for his help with full faith, and he arranges others to send his help, I have no doubt that when I donate some money God will provide me many times more so that I could continue to help others in need.
Praise be to God. Amen
