Would AIB board ever have been used under a window in bedrooms?

DO you mean under a window cill to bridge the cavity or as a large infill panel instead of brick if so then yes both are possible asbestos . The ones under window cills were usually black in colour

As you are pulling the house apart another thing to look out for is if you have the old fashioned 12 inch black tiles on the floors then these and the glue also contains asbestos and should be treated as asbestos waste . Old fashioned wall mounted toilet cisterns can also be asbestos same as the tank in the loft that feeds cylinder

I just mean these thin board under the whole window, where the two slats are… the price of board. Behind it is just a brick wall. And the two larger sides are plasterboard I think!

I have been so so worried about all the boards we pulled off. I’m talking every room! I really hope they were just plasterboards. Just the fact the door had AIB has really freaked me out! I’m a 30 year old female and not used to DIY lol! This is in the bathroom and there were tiles on top and then they’d boarded over with wooden slats!

Thank you. The only floor tile is the one in the back porch which looks like that old parquet flooring but I’m not planning on moving it

Eee honestly, I’m making myself ill with it. Everything is in bags ready to be taken away and the house is just a shell but now I’m thinking about the insulation in the walls!!! It was brown paper backed and like a fluffy thin wool but long hair if that makes sense. So now I’m googling asbestos insulation

Thank you! This is a newer part of the house that was a bedroom and made into a wet room by the previous owners. Not sure if it’s just cement around the windows but I doubt asbestos?

Also this is the thin bosrd I was talking about under the windows in the bedrooms. The side panel I think is plasterboard but the one where the lays are directly under the window is thin and there’s just a brick wall behind it!

This here is in the kitchen near the window. Those air vents were covered by a kitchen cupboard and apparently used to be used for larders. Hoping the board is just plasterboard again! It’s gone now but I’m panicking !!! ‍

It doesn’t look like the AIB board on the back of the door… we took the kitchen one off however, the fact there’s no insulation behind those under window boards makes me wonder.. literally just hate brick x

This was how the insulation looked. So there was a plasterboard (I hope) then the plastic membrane then a brown backed insulation sheet which had been there since the house was built in 1969
