Things I like and buy every week in Lidl are Greek yoghurt....
Yes, I prefer Lidl's Greek style yogurt to Aldi's.

It's made by Müller.

And they do pecans, but Aldi don't.

Aldi used to do some veggie stuff at our local one that is no longer stocked, whether it's just that store or a nationwide thing, I dunno.

@securespark did you not use the Scan and Go thing? I use the Smart Shop thing in Sainsburys, I'd be lost without it, makes the whole process soooo much better, makes me chuckle every time I go to pay, walk past people unloading their entire trolley onto the conveyor belt, I walk round, pay and walk out before they've even spoken to the cashier, sure I get it if you're perhaps elderly and such newfangled technology escapes you or whatever but otherwise I find it completely bewildering.

No, not Greek style yoghurt. Real Greek natural yoghurt. Preferably 10% fat. 5% fat is not bad either but contains more sugar.

I deliberately look for Greek yoghurt (not Greek style) in both lidl and aldi.

I have yet to see one in lidl that is not labelled "style".

Perhaps it is a regional thing, as Google says lidl do an "own brand" Greek yoghurt. Just not in the ones I've shopped in.

This is what I just bought from aldi....

Ah, OK, the genuine stuff.

Lidl 5% fat Greek yogurt (genuine) has 4.2g of sugars per 100g of product, and the 10% one has 4.8g per 100g of product.

But don't worry, it's not added sugar, it's lactose that occurs naturally in the milk.

No, I've never used the scanners. Mainly because we mostly shop in supermarkets that don't have them!

Keeps people in jobs too, I usually enjoy the banter with checkout peeps
I have to laugh when people give that reason for using manned tills. If they were concerned about keeping people in jobs, they should have been buying from the local bakers, butchers, greengrocers, chemists, confectionary shops, hardware stores, newsagents, garden centre, vintners, off licences, milkman, deli's, cheese mongers and the corner shop even! Most people have at least some of those types of outlets near to them - you can banter with them and keep up with local gossip too, if that’s your thing.

I had never thought that using the manned checkouts would let people in jobs. The local Tesco just gradually closed more of them down. Regarding local delis and bakers, Tesco have closed them down in store as well presumably due to lack of use.

They still have a deli section and a bread/bakery aisle though.

Local Booths closed their unmanned checkouts and replaced them with manned express tills

I LOVE self check out and it's great when you only have a few items. The scan and go I also LOVE, get to the pay area with everything scanned and bagged, pay, outta there.

Not everyone wants the 'banter' with check out staff.
