Asda

We're trying home deliveries from Sainsbury's. Enjoying it a lot more than I expected. Each delivery is less than £2 with a pass. Although there is definitely a price hike over Aldi.

I have used a self checkout a few times over the years, maybe around 10. But only once have I been through without needing a human to sort out a red light.

Unexpected f-up in the bagging area...

Aldi's self-checkouts rarely miss a beat.

You can screw the packet up, and they'll still read it.

Tesco's are ****e in comparison : rarely get a basket thorough without an issue.

Sainsbo's? Don't go in there.

I'm either in scutta class, or lording it up in Waitrose  :)

Not in my local branch.
Yesterday, I had seven items in my basket. I went to self service (which actually means no service), I thought I'd be through in jig time, but no. There are three cash and card tills, and four card only. One of the cash and card has an upturned basket on it, another had a big sign, which said "CARD ONLY". That left one machine where I could use cash.
No problem I thought, there is a lady using it, but she's nearly finished, or so I thought. Just before paying, she decided she wasn't finished shopping, and went back into the store to finish her shopping.
When she returned and went to pay, she used her card at the only maching that takes cash, and by this time the four card only machines were free.
Something along those lines is a regular occurence when I use that shop.
Fuming, much.

If we cant get a sainsbury's slot we sometimes do Icelands delivery, it's not bad at all and they deliver it in bags instead of them stupid crates :)

That's the fault of the bint, not the tech (y)

I had the 'pleasure' of using the EVRI parcel self serve machine in tescos Express the other day.
My god
It is really intuitive if you're 15 but not so great when you are on the final few furlongs.
When I finally managed to get it to even attempt to scan the qr code (it wouldn't) the queue behind me had obstructed all the tills and they had to get a teenage member of staff to rescue me.

Brigadier is right about aldis machines-so much better than tescos
I thought it was because most of their products have the barcodes in a big stripe but they are just as good on short ones.

Their self-checkouts are excellent and they have the brilliant idea of putting large barcodes on products often in multiple places.

Don’t try going through the self checkouts with plants in pots though…..I made that mistake once, plants vary a lot in weight due to the varying amount of water in the soil. I had 6 red lights Oops!
