I think your barking up the wrong tree with this Ethiopian / Pole thing. like David says above, by being members of the EU, we have a reciprocal agreement with Poland whereby they can come and work here and we can go and work there with no bureaucracy. Once Turkey join the EU, the same will apply there.

The reason that Ethiopia isn't allowed is nothing to do with race, it is to do with nationality, and the geography of where that nation lies. I haven't got unfettered acces to just turn up and work anywhere outside the EU, but its nothing to do with racism....

But that's just the point. I'm not trying to prove racism - just the opposite.

If an Ethiopean isn't allowed into the UK then it isn't racist to suggest that he 'gets the hell out of here' if he is here illegally. It simply highlights that it is possible to discriminate on race issues without being racist. It's called realism.

Now answer me this:

An Ethiopean comes to Britain and is refused admission as he is the 'wrong race'. He slips in the back door illegally. He goes to a pub and the landlord refuses to serve him as he is the 'wrong race'. Is the landlord a racist? If he is - why isn't the man in immigration?
