While notch and others make up crap
the BBC are talking about dealing with grey areas, and have pro tem held Lineker to the standards as before. No apologies from either.

Too many of the posters on here are showing themselves to be liars. They read something and wilfully misrepresent it. Shouldn't be allowed.

I'd bet whatever they decide will preclude him and and others from aligning anyone's statements with those of the Nazis.
The liars are those claiming GL compared anybody to murderers.

He clearly mentioned "the language". I can't see anybody who would defend the language being used by the Tories, other than extreme Tories.

Actions are a much further step. Conflating the 2 things is dishonest.

I have a feeling we won't be seeing further Lineker tweets comparing the Govt to Nazis.

He doesn't need to, its out there and hasn't been apologised for or retracted. Oh, and the BBC and others have apologised to him.

Gary was spot on.

Gary was spot on.
He continued: "However difficult the last few days have been, it simply doesn't compare to having to flee your home from persecution or war to seek refuge in a land far away. It's heartwarming to have seen the empathy towards their plight from so many of you.

Another subtle back-handed dig at the fascist Tories. Go get 'em Gary!

Because you gave the wrong answer.
Did I?

"...Rishi Sunak has declined to offer his backing to the chairman of the BBC and stressed his appointment was made by his predecessor Boris Johnson..."

Maybe I named the wrong bloke.

The BBC have backed down, there has been no apology, and Gary has again tweeted his concern about attitudes to asylum seekers. Gary 1 BBC 0

Blup

I'm like that when watching quite a lot of sport, I would like to have the audio from the venue but would quite happily not have commentary.

Snooker is a pet hate of mine ...

And now he'll screw back and try to get on the blue and from there if he lands on the right side of the blue he'll apply side and a lot of force to hit the pack of reds. If he does that correctly he'll then ...

JUST SHUT THE FECK UP AND LET ME WATCH THE ACTION!!!

I'm sure the reason they don't have an option via the red button to switch commentary off is because they know a LOT of viewers would ;)
What ****es me off is the camera switching to the ball going into the pocket at the last second, the ball goes into the pocket 99% of the time! I want to see the cueball doing its stuff because that's the business end..

You did. Tim Davie is not the Chairman of the BBC. He's the Director General.

I would have sacked all of them

Linegar
Shearer
Wright

All the commentators who also refused to do there job

The entire rag tag lot of em

And I would have sacked the director general or what ever he was of the BBC
