Biasi M90 24s won't fire up

I have undone and removed the large screw on the front off the pump. I have pressed the button to start the boiler and can tell that the pump is spinning as it should until the clicking and whiring stops and the pump stops as well.

Then remove the primary flow switch and test this, or is the pin activating the switch.

That is if the pressure is as in first post and issolators are not closed

I think we may be getting some where. The pin IS NOT coming out and making contact with the switch.

Not being funny but could of told you this yesterday.

Remove the switch an call for heating, press the switch gently at same time, "Hey presto heating"

Now we need to know why is the pin not moving, could be the motor

Hooray. :D Yes, Call for heating and press the switch and the boiler fires - but can I clarify that I have to wedge the switch down as the boiler will just go out.

Why DIDN'T anyone tell me to do this yesterday? Nevermind, at least the heating is on and I can now do the washing up without a kettle :) Noww, is someone maybe going to suggest the diverter valve perhaps? It's just that that came up as a possible problem last time. P,S Thanks for EVERYBODYS help so far.

Just to let you guys know I'm going to disappear now until Monday. Had enough of this for the mo and it's just nice to be warm. Thanks for everyones help but I just now need to find out why the pin doesn't come out. Do I carry on this thread or start another one. Thanks again

Keep this thread and sort the div motor out now

You wasnt told yesterday as you only had eyes for Tony

Ok. Will carry on Monday. Don't know what I will have to do with the div motor yet. :( By the way it was actually you other 2 I was talking to yesterday. I had one post from Tony which was carried on briefly today. Ta ta.

There is nothing wrong with the diverter valve as far as I know.

There is a problem with the primary flow. Just increase the system pressure a little in case the gauge is jammed.

I would not advise you to run the heating as the flow switch is to prove that there is water circulating. However, if the heating is working then there is evidently some flow.

Doing the same bodge should give you hot water as well.

Note the flow switch has to be pressed within a few seconds of the pump starting.

What do you want to do next? I can give you interactive instructions if you want to try to fix it yourself or you may prefer to get a boiler engineer.

Reasonable deduction

BTW Tony, I did not advocate running boiler with Primary flow switch wedged, it was for test only. Note the pin was not coming out  DV.

Anyway going out now will pick it up tomorrow.

Craig ;)

Hi EVERYONE :!: :!: :!: :D
Just checked my mail. The boiler is running fine and heating and water are both working as they should. It was my idea to wedge the switch (by the way this is the black switch in the plastic housing in case I have my wires crossed again, I must admit I am getting a bit confused with a lot of the abreviations and proper terms for some of the bits involved), and if I un-wedge it the boiler just stops. As I said I am more than happy to have a go at fixing this as long as you guys can give me the guidence.
Catch up on Monday if not tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Drain the boielr and remove the pump head and see if there is dirt in the eye of the pump impeller.

Is clean and its fixed.

If not replace the pump and carefully remove the four screws covering the diaphragm on the flow switch.

Remove the cover and check the pin is free to move.

If the slotted screw on the left is loose thyen tighten it a bit and then reassemble and test. If it wors then fine if not ask for next step.

Tony

Before I do this, are you talking about the main water pump? Also you have talked about increasing the water pressure - how do I do that? Thanks.
