Get a decent number of UK official looking high speed boats . Put planks across the front
Push the boats back to the French coast, decant the occupants and destroy the boat.
WHile the politicians are arguing about it being illegal, the people wouldn't risk losing their money, so the practice would stop.
Pay some or let a few in if they provide sufficient info about the smugglers to get them arrested. Plant m i g r a t s to report on smuggle locations, people, etc.
Use proper noisy drones, fly them up and down continuousy looking for the boats.

It's horrible, but necessary and at least none should drown.
Meanwhile set up a proper procedure for processing wannabe migrants.
