It's essentially what they do in Kos. The greeks run a couple of ribs with a 50 cal on the front and a pair of 300hp outboards. They just push them back in to Turkish waters. They also arrest, harass and otherwise intimidate any NGO's offering assistance. Anyone reporting "illegal boat" vessels in distress on Ch 16 are told to leave the area "help" is coming. You don't want to be there when they arrive. You'll be boarded and every inch of your vessel checked. One out of date flare or emergency light with a flat battery and you are toast.

We are paying the Fr large amounts, yet on a sunny day there are dozens (iirc) of the boats not being stopped. The Fr are pretending to be concerned . They have a few patrols for the cameras
On a sunny day, visibility is good. Watch out for boats from drones, see where they came from, visit and confiscate the boats.
