Brexit Negotiations proceeding, er...... well...... er....

I don't get Quitters. I thought once we leave the EU we will become so rich and prosperous when we can sign our own trade deals and tell the EU we don't want to trade with you anymore. So why are they not demanding an end to negotiations - we don't need them we will leave and not have to pay a penny in any settlement.

All EU trade will end and we can then trade freely with the rest of the world.

I think the EU will thrive without the UK, even more so than when we were a part of it. I think they will realise that Brexit is a godsend for the EU where its most recalcitrant member has left.

As to the UK - we will just see more Neo liberal policies and cutting of services and rising taxes.

As Cameron said "More for Less". We will be paying more for less when it comes to energy, goods, services etc

Because you rubbish anything and everything, it has no effect and even less significance anymore.

Its not about the money. Least not for me.
An Irishman says he would rather pick with the hens than live under british rule.
You get the idea?

 the comment "I think" pretty much sums up the above post

written by another "we /Uk should have joined the Euro" fruit cake ;):)

That will be Brexiteer farmers doing a U-turn and becoming Remainers, after the latest government U-turn:

Still the quitters think they are on to a winner.

So far, that is a proven lie about the £350 for the NHS, now the farming subsidies.
It is all trickling out slowly how bad it is going to be.
Broadly speaking, the farming community already has to work to protect the environment and wildlife to get their subsidies.. nothing has changed.

I think that the French showed us the correct way of dealing with collaborators when the German army were finally driven out of France...wahabi, JD, noseall.... How well do you guys get on with feathers?

There a lot of farmers that feel once they are unshackled from the EU's high prices caused by the farming subsidies, they'll be able to drop their prices. Many farmers will go to the wall, as they are unprofitable, and only survive on the subsidies. Milk at the minute goes abroad because it's cheaper because of the drop in the pound, but tarrif charges may reverse that, so mile and cheese prices would drop. Time will tell on this one - either way.

Surely that doesn't make sense and is contradictory.

I thought the milk price was dictated by the supermarkets at a ridiculously low price and farmers would like nothing more than to be able to raise the price.

That's right; some farmers survive on subsidies, whilst others are efficient and can survive without them, so it's obviously not always the price that gets paid for the product that becomes the survival factor. EU farming subsidies keep the prices up, because many farms are inneficient, as in why bother to work properly, when the hamndouts keep you going.

That's why only time will tell how many go to the wall, and how the removal of the subsidies then affects the prices. I've heard both camps talking, and it seems that some of the farmers know what's really going on, and others aren't letting on.

Exactly, that's why it's going abroad where they're getting a better price. The supermarket win because the shortage causes the price of butter and cheese to rise, whilst still paying low prices to those that still supply them, I assume on fixed contracts.
