i lost the screws that hold down the plastic part that sits on top of the starter, its the part with the two holes, one for the petrol tank lid and where the starter cable comes out, its purely cosmetic to make the mower look better and covers the metal parts i assume, not sure what size screws i need to hold down that part.

Not too sure of what you mean but if its what I’m thinking of, they are 3mm self tapping screws about 30mm long......does that sound about right? They fix the cover onto the air cowl, both in plastic.

that sounds about right, looking at parts diagrams its just called a black engine cover
