Climbing a war memorial - not a crime

Again, I have said the police acted correctly since the protestors complied with the request to come down. If I was that much of a Victor Meldrew, depending on the obstruction I'd remind them of the wording of sec 137 of the Highway Act 1980, the Traffic Management Act or their broad powers under anti social behaviour legislation. But the point you raise is exactly the unintended consequence of the Met cheif's stupid attempt at politics.

Next time one of his officers asks a person to come down, what do you think will happen?
So your persistent claims that they do have the power was nonsense then?
I'm sure they'd be pleased with a wannabe lawyer telling them their 'powers' while they're asking a protester to be considerate.

Are you interested in becoming a Lawyer Roy? Based on your ability to grasp legal concepts, I'd suggest that might be a plan worth rethinking.

I'm retired. I have no inclination to return to full time work. If and when I work I have the advantage of picking and choosing what work I accept.
I don't always charge for my services, so payment is not a consideration, but sometimes it is a motivation for the 'employer' to value my work.
Sometimes I think that if someone is paying for something they will value it more.

Don’t get this thread deleted now Roy. You’re on a roll at the min! Play nicely

I'm not responsible for the deletion of any threads.
Quite the reverse, I've stated several times that the mods are most unlikely to be doing me any favours.
I guess the thread was pulled yet again to protect the reputation of you and other member, or to protect the reputation of the site.
If you and others are going to persist in being abusive, I suspect the mods are going to be busy.

It’s funny how you get locked out of threads and I don’t Roy ? It’s a bit like you’re the problem and no one else.

Mods are human, and they make human judgements. Human judgements are often not logical.
Apart from that, they just respond to reports. So if you, or anyone else, report my posts, they'll lock me out of the thread.
It's not based on logic nor moral judgements. It's just some exploiting the system.
Mods are also posters. It's been obvious before now that some will exploit their authority to lock me out of threads, or to delete my posts, or even to post their response, then lock the thread.
As I said, mods are highly unlikely to do me any favours, the multiplicity of abusive posts made about me proves that point.
But that doesn't apply to others. Any minor abuse to others is deleted and threads locked or deleted PDQ.
They'll also delete threads to protect the reputation of certain members, and the reputation of the site. That's also been obvious in the past.

Ahh the "its not me its everyone else" argument.

If your post was correct, why would you constantly seek to register and post here, only to last a while, gradually getting your privileges withdrawn, until eventually you are banned? Why would you want to be "sport" for others?

Is your neurodiversity controlling you or is it simply you like a good argument about absolutely anything and this fills your otherwise very quiet days?

The Mods do their job admirably. I’ve been taken to task but have learnt not to be silly. Perhaps Roy, you could try it. Then thread after thread wouldn’t be wasted.

I come here for to refute fake news, false claims, offer alternative opinions, expose bigotry, denounce abuse, etc.
That seems to rankle with some, including you, nwgs and others, who then resort to being abusive.
That's your problem, not mine.
If I'm being denied the opportunity, and being subjected to so much abuse, that encourages me and suggests my objective is being achieved.
As I said in the now deleted thread, it suggests more about the abusers than it does about me.

So if you are silenced completely - it's job done, mission accomplished, as far as you are concerned? Sounds like everyone is a winner.

How do you work that if your banned from threads ??????? Your not the sharpest knife in the drawer if you continually moan about the mods in threads when it's against forum rules.
