It's not a crime to hate fat people, it's a crime to attack people because you hate fat people.
Nothing stopping a sad twit sitting at home, seething to themselves about fat people. Not illegal, just sad.
Contrary to what others may think on here, it's not illegal yet to think bad thoughts about people and their appearance, religion, whatever. It's bad to act on them.

As an elderly man from a different generation, who has displayed some misogynistic tendencies on here already, you will never understand because you are unwilling to see it from any other viewpoint than your own. I doubt you've ever been scared of a woman in your whole life, nor lived your life with this underlining worry that woman are taught from an early age because of a long history of men oppressing women through control, violence, whatever. No, you'd rather blame the woman because she may have tits on display, or indeed, actually just happen to have tits and the men can't help themselves because tits are for men, not babies, right? Or cry that it's prostitutes who are taking advantage of men and expect people to feel sorry for the men, when it's men by and large who pimp, are violent towards the girls, run kidnappings and prostitution rings and take the money for doing sod all. Yeah, the women really have the upper hand here don't they?
Your view on women is outdated and pretty appalling.
But sure, just be a silly old man, stomping your foot like a child and cry that "it's not fair" when it comes to a law that actually, through tougher sentences, may make men think twice about behaving appallingly towards women and act as a deterrent. You think you are right - well, you're not right. This is not about making men a politically correct victim if they get done behaving inappropriately towards women, this is about giving women a chance to walk down the street with the same level of peace as a man does. Something you've always taken for granted.
I think you are under a misapprehension, my problem, as is common on here, is with the meaning of words.
Yet, you seem to be saying it is a crime to hate women or any of the other groups.

I mentioned fat people because I was replying to Ian who used fat people as an example. Other than that, don't try and put words in my mouth. "seem to be saying".

So do you think that it's ok for a Muslim man to be targeted for a crime, just because he's Muslim and just have it labelled as a crime, not a hate crime? So it gets a lesser punishment?
Or have a Muslim walk down the street and have abuse shouted at them, just because he/she is Muslim? That's ok huh?
If you don't think that's ok then that is a good thing, makes you a nicer person. But there is similarities of what women put up with and have done for donkeys years just because they are women.

I agree with that.
Misogyny is a hatred of women, ergo, according to what you wrote, misogyny is not a crime.
Yes. Commiting a criminal offence is the crime - whether hatred is involved or not.
