A witchhunt is expected and needed, followed by some good old fashioned witch burnings.

Well, as long as those people in the crowd who pushed of their own violation are also put to trial.

Oh wait, what am I thinking, no one in the crowd pushed of their own violation, they all pushed because the police made them, this was hard to tell what with everyone saying "sorry, excuse me, pardon me, oh I'm awfully sorry old bean".

So if the fateful gate hadn't been opened and your brother died in a crush out the front - would you be on here supporting the guy that kept it locked? Or calling for his head. Come on, Sooey - we need answers.

He would be blaming the officers outside the ground for failing to disperse fans the correct way, as he should do.

Oh Hi! snico, nice to see you!

I'm not trolling, sorry if you are so immature as to be unable to discuss something you disagree with.

Anyway, even if I was trolling, it's not my fault, it's the fault of the moderators for not dealing with anticipated behaviour, that's the argument right?

Live in the real world mate. The fans had tickets and the game was under-way. Have you ever been to a football match? People were being crushed outside the ground.

No one is calling for the head of the man who opened the gate.
It's the inexperienced head man who told him to, and who then didn't have the moral courage to face up to what he had done. And the people that lied to protect him and the force.
No one even thinks that he did that to deliberately cause death and injury, but there would have been a lot more sympathy for him if he had done what any proper man would do after such an incident.
Which in my opinion would have been to "man up" say he made a tragic error because of a situation which overwhelmed him and his officers.
If that had have happened and the resulting inquiry had apportioned the reasons and the fault to the proper causes this would have been cleared up long ago, and those families wouldn't have had to put themselves through so much extra heartache.
It's a total disgrace and a national scandal.
GEDDIT YET?

I have been to a football match, I have also been to Hillsborough. Now if you dont know the lay out outside the ground, which I assume you dont. Your comment is invalid.

You've committed a violation of the English language of your own volition.
Anyway, you've been told, you are an irrelevant p*ick. goodbye.

So you are only interested in the so-called justice rather than looking at ground safety so it could never happen again.

Should he have opened the gate? Yes or no?

Wake up, ground safety was addressed years ago and was the one good thing to have come out of this tragedy.

Should he have opened the gate? Yes or no?

Not without closing the tunnel leading to the central pens NO, but he didn't have the experience to know that did he.
It's beside the point anyway, It's what happened after that is more important, and not just from the police point of view.

No, when I was, and still am a Liverpool season ticket holder.
