I just can't believe this thread, we have a disaster at hillsborough that the establishment have lied about for 23 years, the families affected are finally vindicated and we still have those still prepared to believe the lies.
Unlike the idiots searching for their "push" theory in utter desperation and others blaming scousers, i have stood on that leppings lane terrace, and at a time of a reported crush.
1981 fa cup semi final spurs v wolves, us spurs fans are allocated the leppings lane end, travel problems on the roads mean fans arrive in sheffield later than intended. Anyone who has been to hillsborough would know that the turnstle area is located at the bottom of a bowl, with so few turnstiles for that end it has always had a history of large crowds gathering. Those in charge should have had ticket checkpoints set up a half mile or so from the ground, they didn't which led to congestion at the turnstiles. I believe they failed to set up check points in 89 as well.
In 81 there was the same build up outside the turnstiles and the police opened gate C and in we went. You buy your ticket thinking the stand your walking into has had its capacity tested, you have faith that the authorities know what their doing. We walked down the slope which is the tunnel and onto the terrace, and those looking to blame pushing haven't got a clue, a terrace is a series of DOWNWARD facing steps, you find your spot and in a large crowd there is a natural sway of movement, but it is certainly not pushing. There was a number of factors why there was no deaths that day, there way no lateral fences which meant we could at least move sideways, and a policeman opened the gate in the perimeter fence.
I had been to hundreds of games before this one and let me tell you i have never felt crushing like i did that day, i was struggling to breath on countless occasions. I saw a couple of lads trying to climb the fence to escape the crush only for old bill to come down hard with the batons. I have no doubt the police were just as helpful in 89. The gates were opened after much pleading and fans were let on to the pitch side, but not before 38 spurs fans suffered broken arms, legs ribs etc. I know the opening of the perimeter gate EARLY saved lives that day, but i have always questioned the capacity of that terrace.
The news of this crushing was relegated to the odd column as on the same day the Brixton riots started.
For those who want to blame scousers for everything, you do know there have been many instances of crushing in british football. Burnden park bolton 1946 33 deaths due to overcrowding, 1971 Ibrox park 66 deaths due to crushing, in fact Manchester united visited hillsborough for a FA cup semi final in 1957 and quess what? More crushing!

Crushing in 81 then banned for 5 years from holding another semi, 1987 Leeds united visit hillsborough, more crushing, 88 crushing occurs again.
To sum up the lepping lane end had a history of crushing incidents going back at least to the 1950's and no one heeded the warnings.
Fact number two Hillsborough did not have a safety certificate from 1979 yes TEN BLOODY YEARS. Bramwall lane sheffield united ground did not have one either at the time of the hillsborough disaster.
I have read all the trolls posts, hang your heads in shame. The local council, sheffield wednesday the FA and most importanly the police ARE ALL RESPONCIBLE for the deaths of 96 innocents.
The transcripts of the coppers in the police control room watching the CCTV are a joke if the event wasn't so serious, please tell me how senoir officers can tell that fans walking in a stadium are drunk and ticketless?
Are the cameras so good that they can smell a persons breath and if he's got a ticket or not?
Ten years at least for all those lying corrupt policemen, but please let it be Walton Prison.
