There was no majority for the Tories in the GE if you believed what you wanted to believe at the time. What happened there? Oh yeah, an 80 seat majority, that’s what happened.

No, the people who live in LTNs don't want cars in their roads, NIMBYs. Say we make every road a LTN, that would be great.

It's good when politicians come up with ideas that then get badly implemented causing them to rethink the strategy.
Sometimes an idea makes sense in a few places and then people go mad and deploy it in places it doesn't make sense. We had this with Speed cameras. Labour created a pyramid funding scheme (camera fines funding more cameras) and they exploded. Organisations existed simply to find more places to put cameras up. The public didn't like it and Labour listened scrapping the pyramid funding. It's good when politicians do this.
What is nice to see is that Sunak has finally got his fingers on the pulse.

- 15 minute cities will go
- road pricing taxes will go.
Unfortunately, he has little power to do anything other than set policy. If you like 20mph limits everywhere in your county, vote liberal democrat. They are far worse at NIMBYsm than labour.

This isnt a policy reversal, its a review of what can play to (potential) conservative voters. Lets create an American style of politics and concentrate on what divides people, it worked for brexhit (big divisions there still), and they think it will work after the Hillingdon by election because they scraped back in. He's doing what Trussed did in her leadershp campaign and playing to die hard tory members, rather than the country. The SPADs are running the show. But people do actually care about the environment.

the 2019 election was not a brexit referendum…if you think it was, please show me the ballot paper.

The 2019 GE was about one thing and one thing only - giving Boris the power to carry out the result of the referendum. You know that. Everybody knows that. Wake up.
And notchee doesn't know that and is allowed a vote. Marvelous.
if you want to frame it as a brexit referendum then far more people voted for parties not wanting Brexit.
