Sichuan pepper isn't pepper. It is a really nice spice, and is just fantastic when substituted for peppercorns in steak au poivre, but it will subtly change the flavour of anything you use it in, which may not be what you want.

Actually, I blame the racists who introduce this sort of thing into any debate they can. They want to spread the idea that using the word black in the context of black pepper, black cars, black bin-liners etc is somehow racist. I'm not saying it's their idea, or that they believe it, just that it's an idea they try to put forward.Zampa said:jbonding said:read something tonight about the black museum (do a search) some asian mp?mayor whatever, was offended with the word black sending out the wrong message, now make your mind up calling someone black is offensive ,or not pc correct so you dont say it. so how can it be connected to the black museum, so how can you have it both ways?

It's a ludicrous idea, which is exactly why they do it. Because so many people find it ludicrous, they foster an environment where more people think it is ludicrous to complain about the word, and they make it more likely that they can start to get away with phrases like "black migrants flooding our shores", "black migrants taking our jobs", "black muggers making our streets unsafe".
Think about how often you see a racist try to lump criticism of his statements into the idiotic "PC" mish-mash of other complaints about the use of the word "black".
