Do all southerners...

Re visiting "The Pool" recently I met up with an old mate who's wife is a tescher.
The school she works in is a tadge rough and apparently one female student was noted for personal hygiene problems so one day she gives her a note to give to her mother about this problem, the mother turns up next day, bursts into the classroom and comes out with " yur here to learn her, not sniff her, she's not a frigging geranium"

cmother1 your not alf garnetts nemisis of a son inlaw are you

Certainly not! I'm what's called "edjakated scouse" - came down here with a job to go to (not at Kwik-Fit by the way). Beats being Tony Blair's father-in-law!

In truth I was thrown out of Liverpool at 24 when they discovered I'd never been to a football match in my life, even though I lived only a quarter of a mile from the Kop. Can't stand the blo*dy game

For me, the North is anyone beyond Portsdown Hill.

When I lived in London (proper London, not out in the suburbs) everywhere outside the M25 was jokingly referred to as "The North"... Even Portsmouth...

I like the Wigan accent. It's not possible to speak Wigan without moving your mouth like Wallace of "The Wrong Trousers" fame. Plus they make the words "everywhere", "hair" and "Tony Blair" rhyme with the word "blur". And George Formby was from there... sorry, I mean he was from thurr. ;)

I like Yorkshire accents on women, makes me think of nurse Gladys Emmanuel. Also I love West Country accents on women. Makes them sound impressionable...

Oh - and I forgot to mention that all Cockneys are sly and unintelligible. My mum met some in Liverpool, during the war, when she was on munitions work. She was still going on about them 50 years later, so it must be true.

both my sons were born in St Georges, Tooting so qualify as Cockneys.
You can hear Bow Bells in Tooting?

No one where I come from would use this definition (probably wouldn't even understand it!). For a Scouser a Cockney is anyone from south of about Luton - or a line even further north if you're 'Extreme Scouse'. ;)

Im from Southampton, everyones a Northener to me..... :)
who you calling a northerner?
