And I kid you not, the driver was so close to the car in front that no road surface was visible in front of the taxi.

Lol, our driver was so deep in important conversation on his phone that he gesticulated fiercely to the rozzers who wanted him to get a move on at a busy junction, in a way that said "can't you see I'm busy talking...!"

Thailand has possibly the most dangerous roads and drivers in the world. And in Bangkok to add to the fun, the smbulances are private, they scrape you off the road, take you to hospital where the driver gets a kick back.

170 000 people killed or injured on UK roads in 2017..Speeding,,a huge factor...Not sure how many killed by burglars!..For me,killing people is more of an issue..Yet people argue the toss about speed cameras,,tis the coppers fault,,,should be investigating proper crime!!!....ffs,,,pi..s farting about,speeding...f..inaround on your phone ,and putting someone in a wheelchair for life is a "proper crime""!!

Don't throw numbers around that make no sense, it ruins your argument entirely. Around 97000 people were killed or injured (that's shock through to arm hanging off) on the roads in 2017. Between 2012 - 2016 speed was a factor in only 11% of all accidents, it is only the primary contributory factor in between 5-7% of all accidents. Governments own figures.

We need a grown up common sense based discussion about the use of speed cameras and other types of enforcement, not arm flailing and wailing about the children, being hugely emotive doesn't help us target limited resources at the right things, as evidenced by the angst in this thread.
