SPSN can be used to describe both single pole with a switched neutral and also single pole with a solid neutral, so it's not actually an entirely clear term. It depends on the manufacturer.

Yes it's neat, yes it's obvious And several (smaller) manufacturers do them.

And a number of large manufacturers make multi-pole busbars.

Basically there's zero compatibility between "traditional" CUs and dual-bus-bar CUs like the SBS ones so to introduce these dual-bus-bar devices means a new range of CUs, with all the tooling, stocking, distribution, and marketing costs

But need there be?

Apart from having to be wider as devices are twice as wide, and not needing a neutral bar, a CU is just a box with a DIN rail.

And the industry has plenty of experience of 2- and 3-busbar designs if people want a mix of 1 & 2-pole busbars.

If you look carefully here, you can see the ends of the bars - the tabs are bend at 90˚ so that the bars sit flat along the bottom of the devices, one behind the other.

Looks like a fairly common design of off-the-shelf 2-pole busbar to me.

Missing its end cap, BTW.

Interesting to note that SBS are using 6kA devices, but not selling type-tested CUs.
