I'm away with the caravan at the moment, so only electric shaver and shower - I hate dry shaving, it leaves my face raw for days. Normally I would get a shower, then get a shave and suffer. My thinking was - clean skin, so less infection of the skin? The last few times, I have shaved first, then showered - the rawness, seems to now last only for an hour or too.

Shave? Just grow a beard!

Indeed. I only shave when the hair gets so long that it starts getting stuck in cardigan zips/etc. On average, I shave every 3.5 weeks.

I prefer to shave first, then any residue is washed away.

Also applies to wet shave.

But if you are in a caravan, and have water available, you could wet shave.

Wash your face.

My current Philishave is a wet and dry one that specifically states can be used in the shower.
I occasionally use it with shaving foam.

I tend to nick or cut myself if I ever resort to use of a 'proper' blade.

I'd say the technique is wrong if it is causing a rash. Go slower/gentler over the skin. Perhaps use a lotion, oil or moisturiser before or after?

I have a dry shave while taking my morning dump. Who says men can’t multi-task? ;)
