Earth cable on new bath?

Hi all,

I'm installing a new bath - the old one had an earth cable attached to one of the legs but I'm not sure if I need to reattach it to the new one, and if so, where to attach it.

The new bath is acrylic with metal legs and sitting on a plywood floor, the pipework is plastic pushfit stuff and the house was built in the mid 90s.

No need and would be completely pointless on plastic.
