I've got a 61 reissue, had it about 15 years. just refretted it but not levelled and dressed them yet. Pickups are pretty dire mind.

Choosing pups is a very hard thing to do. They all give diff tones i.e Jazz, Rock, Blues etc. You coud have a debate for the next week on them.

At the moment I have Dimarzio pups, I got them off ebay last year for a bargain not sure how much they are brand new but probably expensive. Try some Duncans, lots of people swear by them

Overpriced. Just sold a few on Ebay. They are only a bobbin of wire.

Does anyone use Phantombidder? I use it whenever I buy something. Its set to bid 3 seconds before the auction ends, even if my computer is turned off.

Saves you money in the long run and really pees people off who think they've won an item with only 10 seconds to go

But they are very good, they give a better sound than more expensive pups

So do many cheaper brands. SD is a marketing exercise.

thats the Stradivarius, famous violin made in Italy. It was said to be the best sounding violin ever made and no one knew exactly how they got the sound from it. They have tested them using x rays to find out the sort of wood used, the varnish was thought to be the reason but this is untrue. People still dont know the real reason why though
