EU and astra zeneca, still going on

It’s a fact that the EU have made a pigs arris of this vaccination caper

the Czechs have gone to the Russians for help and got that Sputnik vaccine

most if not all of the blame can be attributed to that buffoon macron
You may be right, maybe the EU's vaccine rollout has been well and truly sabotaged by AZ.
Why AZ would do that, with such a life-threatening issue, to their nearest ally, is anyone's guess.

It basically shows that the EU are about as agile as a baby panda when it comes to acting swiftly.
They’ve also shown there true colours in there reactions. Nasty & snidey

Upon receiving the request, Member States immediately must immediately notify the Commission of any application and, after analysis, submit their draft decision to the Commission. If the Commission would disagree with this draft decision, it shall issue an opinion and the Member State shall decide on the request for authorisation in accordance with the Commission's opinion.
That means the member state will make a decision with the Commission's opinion in mind.
It does not mean that they need the permission of the Commission.
With the permission of the EU .

No, the EU sabotaged it by dragging their sorry @rses when other countries were forging ahead doing what needed to be done.
It is entirely the fault of AZ not meeting its contracted delivery schedules.
I repeat: why AZ would seek to sabotage the EU vaccine rollout is anyone's guess.

That means the member state will make a decision with the Commission's opinion in mind.

So the member state is obliged to immediately notify the commission and then make a decision based on the opinion of the Commission.

All the EU had to do, was what the UK did, as regards procurement, but they lost out through inefficiency.

The EU tanker, as against the UK'S speedboat, what a pathetic get out by Von Der Lyon.

Your insinuation, that sinister events occurred deliberately is utter nonsense, and belittles you.

Are we going to go over old ground again and disagree about clauses in the contract?
The clauses in the contract have absolutely nothing to do with the Italian block on the export, nor the temporary stopping of the use of the vaccine due to blood clot concerns.
The contract was drawn up way before any export of vaccines was a pipe dream, and the contract would certainly not have any clauses relating to export bans of vaccines.
You do like conflating totally different discussions.
They seem to cite failures to supply as one of the reasons for the block, more than one source. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-56279202

but my comment was aimed at
But if you accept the booking, then fail to deliver what you were contracted to deliver, that's devious, and potentially unlawful.
which is wrong

And coincidentally you changed your argument to the opposite opinion.
Yeah.
You'll be adopting Bodd's trick as well next, claiming it was a joke.

I didn't change my argument, just deleted something I didn't want to repeat, as I have said it elsewhere.

You may be retired but some of us do have jobs to go to

The reason the EU went as a group was to avoid their members squabbling for the various vaccines. An EU spokesperson mentioned that there is some ill feeling in Germany as they are exporting vaccine even to the UK. It's seems that the UK Az plant isn't exporting at all but no definite proof either way.

Decisions are not taken in a vacuum. Although BJ's decisions could be described as vacuous.
