its our spirit that got cut of from God,adam blew it for us all,,therefore we lost his eternal life giving love,peace.
thats why we hunt for soulish satisfaction,like drugs,drink,lust,anything to fill the void,but its never satisfied. also add, our selfeshness,greed,pride,hate,ect
