Expanded ULEZ

I reckon there is mileage given the MPs and ministers who have condemned the scheme and the high court challenge to the authority to expand and ongoing challenges.

Of course they’d have to explain why they hid their identity. Those that did, probably wouldn’t get nicked anyway.

4 per day are being destroyed. 800ish since the expansion. I was surprised to learn that (source FOI request) each cameras costs around £50k. I was thinking more like £3-5k. 3 arrests, 1 person being charged, 1 released without charge. Thats £40M not to mention the increase cost of security etc. The ULEZ workers are now wearing face masks to conceal their identity.

Its ok for the Mayor to film you, but not ok for you to film his minions.

I'm not sure which is the bigger crime. £12.50 per day to drive an efficient relatively clean car, or £50k for a £300 CCTV camera.

I suspect the service provider has a termination for convenience clause given the upcoming elections. They therefore need to front load the revenue recognition.

Standing up all that infrastructure for 1 year is crazy expensive
