Expanded ULEZ

I think you might be going off at a tangent as you obviously enjoy wandering through the woods.
As I pointed out the people slowly being poisoned by the food we consume and the government paying lip service due to the corporates involved, we then have the government concerned about it's citizens dying from pollution and the poorest paying for the privilege, when there's more than one way to skin a cat.

It's beyond belief people think governments give a sh*te whether you die or not from pollution.
There's a far bigger killer seeing a good percentage of the population off and that's the food we it.
Have a look at the kids these days coming out and weep at how overweight they are.
That's an impressive curve ball you threw there, old bap. :D

MBK makes an interesting point regarding weather trends and i wonder if this is the Mayor's way of introducing a City Tax, that penalises residents rather than Tourists, as other cities have started to do - i realise this has probably been said already, given the length of the thread, but the way cities are struggling to cope with people and pollution, it could be one of the reasons for expanding the scheme.

You don't think it's a precursor to 15 minute cities.

If buying toxic food that is wrapped in 5x layers of plastic packagings that are bad for the planet . . . Then how is it my fault if I buy it???

Why is it even on the shelf?

If you think that I'm going off at a tangent, then I don't think you really understand the point you're trying to make.

You know this thing you have about poor people . . . . The people who run this world don't care about them. The evidence is all around you but you don't see it do you & do you know why you don't see it?

You mean you don't approve of incentivising people to pollute cities less

And this is the reverse of your earlier proposals
take 2 mins to learn a tiny bit about the weather and you will understand a lot more about why a tax on apparently 10% of vehicles in Greater London will make zero to negligible difference to air quality.

The Government try and encourage healthy living to lessen the strain on the NHS.

They do this in several ways:

By encouraging healthy eating with taxes levied on certain foods.

Similarly taxes on alcohol and tobacco.

Personally, I feel that the taxes should be raised massively. Fast food joints and supermarkets (and their suppliers) would soon make their products healthier.

Building path and cycleways to encourage the uptake of and increase walking, running and cycling.

Cleaning up the air will lessen the strain too.
Some people just make healthy choices.

Think you have wires crossed if you think that. I've often said that governments are gatekeepers and love pitting communities against each other. Although the amount of support for Hamas in London might have them wondering if they've pushed the envelope to far.

To me it isn't so much about Israel v Palestine, it's about US being used as PAWNS by THEM.

I don't think that you are as yet fully confirmed in your beliefs.
