Expanded ULEZ

Diesels are on the way out. By the time the manufactured outrage has died down nobody will care.

I used to commute by motorbike, free parking, 40 mins each way vs 1:30 via train and tube. Too close for fast trains, too far out for slow trains to be convenient. It would make sense if e-scooters were legal as this would massively reduce traffic in central London.

People with older cars didn’t really have to worry about depreciation until Ulez expanded.
If only they could have known that diesel cars were falling out of favour.

Maybe 15 years ago they could have had an inkling.

I think the principle of Rudolf's invention was a brilliant one.

We were all encouraged to buy them in the late 90s.

It's a crying shame they have become reviled, just when manufacturers have cracked the emissions with the latest Euro version.

People? You mean those that live in polluted London. (y)
So polluted...

So far the expanded ULEZ has been a huge success for Khan. Despite the damages and additional security costs, running a bill of around £50M gross almost £300M a year from fines in the expanded ULEZ, which now makes up 85% of ULEZ revenue and since there was never an air quality problem in outer London to start with, its easy to claim the air has now been cleaned up. Businesses are complaining, but they will soon go bust and nobody will care.

Meanwhile Sadiq Khan is more popular then ever
