Extract Fan Dilemma

One would hope not but, again, it does not alter the fact that BS7671 requires a 'suitability for Zone 1' statement in the MIs.

Actually BS7671 does not require such a statement.

The wording in BS7671, namely:

"In zone 1, only the following fixed and permanently connected current-using equipment shall be installed, provided
it is suitable for installation in zone 1 according to the manufacturer’s instructions
:"

does not mean such a statement is required; merely that according to the MIs the product is suitable for zone 1.
Stating it is IPX4 means it is suitable for installation in zone 1.

This is getting rather tedious, because I can but repeat what I've already written, more than once ...

If the view of the authors of BS7671 was that being IPX4 automatically meant that the manufacturer considered it suitable for Zone 1, then they presumably would not have bothered with the additional (then redundant) requirement for the MIs to indicate "suitability for Zone 1" - and, as I've said, it is 'not impossible' (even if unlikely) that a manufacturer would regard an item as unsuitable for Zone 1, even though it was IPX4.

I have nothing more or new to say, and I am not going to waste time repeating the above any more times.
