Just because Tories effectively legalised corruption doesn’t make it ok

I see you’ve never ever called out the PPE scandal, instrad you whine about Angela Rayner who might’ve got away with underpaying tax by £1500, but when it comes to spaffing £4b on bogus PPE contracts, you are fully on board.

It's incredible for her to run with the "I didn't know anything about the fraud/theft investigation from my employer". So the one almost proper job she had, didn't end well.
The investigation became apparent when the phone was turned on. She was called in by the police. Result.
She said she pleaded guilty to making a false report to police at magistrates' court six months before becoming an MP in the 2015 election, and received a discharge - the "lowest possible outcome".
Well she had made a false report so a not guilty plea wasn't on. The offence is spent so no need to declare it when applying for a job.

She said the matter was a 'genuine mistake' from which she 'did not make any gain'. She pleaded guilty to fraud by misrepresentation after a probe by her then employer, insurance giant Aviva.
Just how many phones does Aviva hand out and how many go missing? The judge accepted her explanation. You want to view it another way but that was the outcome.

Politicians don’t lie ?

They are just economical with actual alletare :giggle: ;)

And they all do that in particular when they are in government

Starmer threw her under the bus

In the real world, would did you expect her to say? "I've been caught out, I tried to keep my fraudster background under the radar but It's now out in the open. In fact, you don't know the half of it, i had to leave my job because I stole another mobile. I don't know how I got away with it all this time".

Then biking from the boatyard and all the right wing press would say, "thank you for your honesty, you'll hear no more about it from us".

Give your head a shake.

Is Ange out of prison yet?

“I was young I made a silly mistake which I held my hand up to. I’ve not tried to conceal my offence but I’m not commenting further”

Maybe she could have got a lawyer to help her.

But she lied again and again and blamed her lawyer for a “genuine mistake”.

If you bother to read the offence you will see the offence is not making a false report as a “genuine mistake”. It’s knowingly making a false report.

Otherwise every witness who mistakenly recall events would be prosecuted.

No judge was involved. It was a magistrate’s court and all we know is that she received a conditional discharge.

I have called it out. I’ve also read the details of the civil claim against the supplier. Have you?

and lost her job.
Her story is she left to become an MP and had no knowledge of the fraud investigation that her employer did. Not very believable is it?

Why would a company risk an unfair dismissal claim by not following process. Of course she would have been warned.

Looks like her lawyer who she moaned about did a stunning job of getting her a conditional discharge instead of prison for fraud.
