thanks for adding to my post in for reference! but you didn't carry on the colour scheme and pretty pictures!!!

I was trying to make the point that PVC conduit is not some magic shield for a cable, and also not just a cheaper alternative to metal conduit that does the same job!!

It was getting on my nerves that people keep posting here saying such rubbish and believing that if you wrap a twin and earth with a layer of plastic it will magically stop people getting electrocuted when they slice through the whole lot!!

I also cant believe that nobody has ever posted anything in for reference about cable types and methods of protection!

I left out micc and the others you mention because they are hard to come by at B&Q and harder to terminate etc

whilst i haven't handled them myself i'm pretty sure split con is more or less the same as T&E to terminate and some sparkys even tell me they find micc easier than SWA.

split con is fairly easy to strip

outside sheath is like SWA. cut round and cut if off. this then leaves a think centre core (phase) with neutral and earth on outside, split earth and neutral apart, and there you go. just the earth and neutral have many conductors

i find MICC and SWA just as easy to terminate altho i rarely use MICC
