Oh come on. Nigel's views are deffo not kind nor does he do this stuff about immigration in an altruistic manner. His views/comments most certainly have been questionable over the years so I will say that any legit points with his messages he has about illegal immigration are lost because it's he who says it. He is quite rightly dismissed as a racist nutter who likes to stir up racism by most.

Oh stff please i know you are also race sensitive for your own reasons hence our 'discussions' in the past (you've no doubt forgotten again), it's not all binary in this world honestly it's not. In all honesty, why does he need to do it? Authorities are aware, we are all aware that there are illegal immigrants coming over by boat. Why does he need to parade up and down a beach, spouting his hatred?

He is a journalist/presenter working for a well know radio station, what makes his trip to the beach to report on a ajor news story any different to BBC journalists travelling here there and everywhere else? Can I ask where you get your news and why you think there reporting is balanced and informative.

He's a politician. Never trained as a journalist, never had a career in journalism.

Nope, most journalists, esp for the last 20 odd years train in journalism. NCTJ is an industry standard qualification (funnily enough, courses run in Bodds neck of the woods - Harlow) which most news outlets will insist on (or indeed a degree) before you're even given a job as a trainee. Journalists, as a norm, will spend years on the streets getting good at their jobs - they don't all walk into a radio show. Those rare ones who do that are pretty much going to be a presenter, not a journo and will know someone in the biz, rather than rely on skill.
He's simply got a gig on the radio once a week because he is who he is. That's far removed from those men and women who've worked flipping hard.

I could pick up my mobile phone and video myself spouting anything and stick it up on facebook/youtube - this doesn't make me a journo.

Is he registered with the NUJ? He wouldn't qualify as a full member as he doesn't get more than 50% of his income from journalism but there are other types and other professional bodies.
