An increasing number of people (granted mainly talking heads on tv) are saying it's not impossible Reform could gain power in 2029 with Farage as PM.

So my question is this. Do you think Farage and Reform are exactly what the UK needs and if so, what are you basing this on? Note I'm not just referring to immigration, would they be good in a wider sense i.e. healthcare, education, energy etc?

Or come 2029, do you think Reform will be lucky to retain their existing number of seats?

No, they would be a complete disaster. Just as Trump will turn out to be a disaster for USA. Right wing politicians offer very simple solutions to very complex problems, and know "how to work the crowd". Hitler was similarly adept.

The UK is in a very deep hole. There are no easy ways out. Farage might well sell enough people a pile of nonsense convincing them that he has all the answers, but it will just further delay getting the problems truly sorted out.

That seems to be what some people want.

And I agree, there are no easy ways out, regardless of the Tories pretending there was. Labour is never going to be perfect, but they are prepared to do the tough stuff. I just hope they have enough time to get enough done before the inevitable move away from them.

I just don't see what Reform is offering other than the talk.

Labour (and Tories to an extent) have been pushing back on some of the political tv progs saying it's easy to offer this that the other when in opposition or other party. Part of me would like to see them in power to see exactly how they'd handle the day to day reality of politics. There again, most likely a case of be (very) careful what you wish for!

Reform Tory coalition could be good. Weak majority governments tend to deliver better policy.

Right now I see a reform vote as too risky.

The country won’t survive two terms of Labour.

What a PM should do to get uk back on its feet:
1. Get out of all green nonsense
2. Employ large numbers of police officers and let them do their work without fear of being reprimanded for not saying "please" when arresting a violent criminal.
3. Treble all minimum sentences for violent crimes, theft and ..(fill this yourself)
4. Deport all foreigners who commit a crime granting 6 months or more inside. For lesser offences 3 strikes and out.
5. Do not get involved in any war unless we are directly attacked.
6. Stop all foreign aid until everyone in uk is fed and housed.
7. Totally stop the woke nonsense.
8. Use our resources like north see oil and cod.
9. Invest in british made product. If this means taxing imports, let it be.

I'm sure there are other points somewhere in my mind, if I remember I write them.

Would Farage do any of the above?
Who knows?
He hasn't had a chance.
But his track record is surely better than any labour out there.

Far rage is treating parliament like he did the eu, a high profile platform from which to spout his propaganda. He wouldnt have a clue how to implement the policies he doesnt have, let alone run the country. Negative campaigning when there is no chance of power is not the same as acting positively in tne country's interests. LizT is an example of how an irresponsible ego can cause huge damage.

Theres a contradiction in there somewhere. Voting for his policies is like voting for the lib dems.
