Kedgeree is quite nice as a good brunch dish.

Waitrose sell cod fillets which are guaranteed to be boneless but they are a bit pricey. Im unsure how accessible Waitrose supermarkets are in the North of England though. A good fish-monger may be worth a visit.

Anyway, poached cod fillets (in milk, a few peppercorns and a bay leaf) are lovely with parsley sauce and mash (semi-skimmed milk and marg instead of butter for the mash). Lots of white pepper in the mash though.
