I can't see what the problem is. You take a life you forfeit your own. Live by the sword etc,etc. The death penalty isn't a deterrent, none of our laws act as a deterrent, but it should be there as a punishment. Try to put yourself in the position of a friend or relative of a victim. Do you think it's fair that they have to endure the pain of losing a loved one for the remainder of their lives while the perpetrator lanquishes at her majestys pleasure and puts two fingers up at everyone. My only problem with the death penalty is that if they ever do introduce it, then it would have to be done humanely. They should all be made to suffer before their lights go out.

The reason that we have a justice system, with police, disinterested judges etc is that retributive punishment decided by emotional victims and relatives is not a good thing.

Torture and the deliberate killing of people by the state as a means of social control has no place in a civilised society.

but i am thinking the medical students would be allowed to join in with there version of death by injection

i am for the making them pay bit myself if they are guilty and its beyond doubt then let the parents or relatives have them for 5 mins

I agree 100% - and for less serious crimes, if jails were like jails rather than holiday camps then people might not be as quick to reoffend,.

I firmly believe that anybody who is in favour of the death penalty is a vile and uncivilised scumbag.

And I firmly believe that its the fault of do-gooders that have made the country what it is now - prisoners have more rights then hard working honest people most of the time. Have you not seen footage from outside prison gates ? People being released are literally in tears now that the good times have stopped rolling. The first thing they do is start plotting how they can get back in for some more of that holiday-style action. More than once I have heard people say "Well that was a hoot, how do I get back in ?".

Ive done work in prisons, sky tv, pool tables, all at our expense, what about the little so and so's that were recently in the news - got nicked for stealing cars but rather than get punished they got sent on holiday - again at our expense, why arnt they out at 5am in the morning sweeping the streets with a toothbrush?

In answer to my last question - because of DO GOODERS, they want to try living an an area away from their large houses in their nice area for a while, where they darnt go to the shop on their own for fear of the groups of little dickheads.

someone i know VERY well recently had an attempted burglary and immediatly phoned 999 and told them someone was trying to break in the back door

18 mins later plod came i was there in 4 mins flat

me and my m8s where nearly locked up for DOING the burglars but we managed to convince the LAW that they attacked us with a screwdriver and we had no choice but to harm them the way we did

there where 3 of them we managed to HARM 2 dont think they will be walking too good too soon

if it was my house i would have killed them and took there bodies to a tip so take note you are on your own the police cant help you

this is what is wrong with this country. why keep prisoners IN the prison? Has nobody thought about all the wasted potential labour inside the prisons? Make 'em work! Chaingangs! Jobs nobody else wants to do! I dont know how i think 'em up.
