Goodnight Iran.

All because Netanyahu is trying to save his own skin.
The Israeli propaganda is working well in Israel.
The attacks on Lebanon have boosted his popularity.
And Israel, Israelis, UK, USA, et al are all perceiving the conflicts against Hezbollah, Hamas, Iran as separate unconnected conflicts, when in reality, of course they're all connected.
Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, etc have always been allies. If you attack one of them, you must expect a coordinated defence from them all.
If you apply the "separate, unconnected conflict" mentality to previous wars, and this current Mid East war, what the hell is UK and USA doing being involved, in this Mid Est current conflict and the WW1 and 2? Germany never attacked UK, nor USA, prior to UK becoming involved.

Not sure Labanons military will be involved at all, thought I saw footage of Lebanon military evacuating yesterday. Remember Hezbollah is a very separate entity to the regular military and Lebanon has no control over Hezbollah, in fact the reverse is true.
Hezbollah have a significant presence in the government.
And if Lebanon is invaded, the government have a duty to protect its population.

true but its not like Gaza, they arent just killing sitting ducks
They have already bombed a refugee camp. They are herding Lebanese into those refugee areas, but Lebanese have an exit into Syria. Whereas the Gazans had no exit.
Israel have also attacked Syria.

One thing is clear, America and Britain can no longer claim to be impartial in the Palestine /Israel conflict.
Israel has used its influence in Western nations to manoeuvre their governments into a position where they will have no option but to support Israel, even if that means a full scale war in the Middle East.
Any war in the Middle East has no benefits for ordinary people in Europe or the Middle East, the real winners will be those who use their money and power to corrupt Democracies into pursuing policies which ultimately damage their own national interests.

There's been an Israeli presence in Southern Lebanon for the past 11 months.
Like our SAS that is more likely to be information gathering than fighting. There are also UN peace keepers driving around Lebanon. Fat lot of good they do.

Odd's comment is correct. Israel gaily went in as they had before and had a bit of a shock. The before is said to be the reason for Iran getting involved and also the formation of Hezbollah. Troop estimates of those vary. They appear to be set up rather like a conventional army Specialist units.

On topic. As of ~11.15pm last night no comments from the US on Iran other than that they are talking to the Israeli.

Iran has been estimated to have an arsenal of about 3,000 ballistic missiles, though the original calculation was made by the US two-and-a-half years ago, so the number may well be higher. Tehran will have wanted to retain the vast majority of its stock in case the conflict with Israel further escalates into a full-blown war.

Tehran’s Emad and Ghadr missiles, used earlier this year, are estimated to travel at six times the speed of sound on impact or more, and take 12 minutes to fly from Iran. That would be more than 4,600mph. But Iran said it deployed the even faster, hypersonic Fatteh-2, with a maximum speed estimated at 10,000mph.

Stopping ballistics in flight is principally the task of the long-range US-Israeli Arrow 3 and Arrow 2 systems, first used during the Israel-Hamas war, which are supported by the medium-range David’s Sling system. The better-known Iron Dome is used for short-range interceptions, often of rockets fired by Hamas from Gaza.

In April, a former financial adviser to the IDF chief of staff said that an Arrow missile typically costs $3.5m (£2.8m) a time, and David’s Sling interceptors $1m (£800,000). Eliminating 100 or more missiles would easily run into hundreds of millions of dollars – though the missiles themselves will have cost Iran £80,000 each or more.

Analysis@the Guardian

Having removed shoes n' socks i calculate the defence of Israel is getting bloody expensive - who pays for this, i wonder?

Some of the footage of the attack on Israel appeared to be iron dome. Made me wonder if I was also watching an attack by Lebanon as well as by Iran. There was a shot of damage in Israel - didn't look like the type that would be expected from a ballistic.

I saw a clip from Tel Aviv where wreckage had dented a road. A lot of coin to spend for nothing more than a traffic inconvenience but Israel has vowed to return fire...and on it goes. America is keeping well away for now, but who can say what they may do if Iran starts hitting civilian targets.

The USA will be chomping at the bit soon enough!!

It’s inevitable they “join” in
