thought i hit the jackpot when i found this thread but disappointed in teh quality of replies.
i have a grant oil boiler which has started knocking dreadfully when on for water. the knocking occurs almost immed after starting, knocks for about 2 mins then boiler goes off.
various plumbers; boiler engineers have all run a mile and not wanted to get involved. any ideas on what may be causing it would be appreciated.
(last boiler engineer who serviced it said the baffles were a little worn and the expansion of these could be causing the knocking but they would last another couple of years and not worth replacing yet.)
