Ah, the dodgy steering wheel. What was that all about??

Yeah..the allegro steering wheel ..wasnt it square shaped or something?

Scroll down for "Quartic" wheel.

Also, the alloys were porous: wake up on a rainy morning to find your tyres full of water...

Not to mention the nasty habit of losing rear wheels...

A nostalgic look at the Crap Cars produced in the UK in the 60 through to 2000. Even the White mini which was tarted up for show-stand, shows signs of severe RUST and body work joints which only just managed to join.
More importantly It showed the Crucifixion of the UK motor industry caused solely by Militant Unionisation and workers following their leaders into the decimation of their own industry and jobs. You hear on the sound track of a worker understandably bleating of his devastation he felt by the loss of his job and livelihood, a loss which he was no doubt party to by following his militant Union leaders whipping him up into a frenzy about low wages and job demarkations.
What better example is there of the ability of Militant Unions to Crucify one of the biggest car manufacturing businesses in the world with their greed and one man one job philosophy.
All workers of the UK should watch this crucifixion and Learn by it. NISSAN in Sunderland certainly did learn the lesson, and look what they have achieved.

Oddly enough there is one British car that i would like to have, a Jag, but i think they're now produced in India, however the name i think is up there with the best for its heretage.

So i've nowt else to say about British cars so can we talk about bikes again please.

When I was in the second year, Sixth Form, one lad passed his driving test and his mum bought him a brand new BL Mini (1974 vintage). The paintwork wasn't quite finished when it left Longbridge, to the extent, there was bare metal visible inside the car.
Needles to say, he only had it a few weeks before returning it to the dealership and asking either for the money back or a replacement car (that was actually painted properly)

I like the Rover P5

Yes, one of my favourite cars too. The epitome of Brtishness. A two-tone P5 coupe, with Rover's (Buick designed) magnificent 3.5 V8. Not just a great looking car, but sounds fantastic too.

Up until a few years ago, I had the P4, Dove grey over Smoke grey. Sold it though. :(

That was one of the reasons for BL's problems. They let the customers do the quality control. The krauts and Japs showed how it should be done. That's why they still reign supreme, and Rover is now 'Over'.
