Happy Brexit day

I see what you're saying - if more people had had the vaccine, there would have been less in hospital with covid, so there would be shorter waiting lists, and by extension, less people to die from waiting for treatment.
I thought they shut the entire nhs because of covid hysteria. Not because of the number of covid cases in hospital.

I'm more inclined to follow the instructions Sir Chris Whitty and his team.
Much the same as what Boris said but more explicit. Still wash your hand and still wear your masks. Everyone knows where they should wear them
Boris seems to feel that all people are sensible enough to protect others - even if they know they have covid and if they don't know.
Free testing continues over most of the flue / colds etc period. Some are complaining that without the test people wont know which is which. They will be on sale.

Businesses - they have effectively passed the buck directly to them.

The cabinet meeting was postponed as argument about funding from the treasury. Solved by deflecting money that was going to the NHS plus reductions.

How is the US trade deal
Not well. The EU in the meantime have negotiated out of the steel tariff Trump added.

The food imports standards change in the near future. The declared idea is to add tariffs to what I will call substandard food - animal welfare and etc. The sting in the tail will be the fact that no supplier will export to here unless it can sell. That means costs that will be competitive with local produce. Even EU stuff will have to be checked - it seems so anyway so up go costs. Look forwards to lamb, beef, pork and chicken from just about anywhere.

Is it not a little shaming that while we have a preposterous foreign secretary bumbling around putting her foot in it and a lying, narccicist, partying PM - the Europeans are stepping up. After we abandoned them in our ruinous Brexit adventure, Germany of all people - run by social democrats - is now re-arming.

And us with our country and 'leaders' sullied by billions of dirty Russian money and the deep suspicion that The Russians threw their weight behind Brexit as they feel threatened by this strong, united alliance. If we can thank Putin for one thing, it may be unity in Europe. While other European countries, inc. Ukraine, see the value of EU membership and seek to join, we threw our dummy out and left them to get on with it. All power to Germany and The EU. You're better off without us.

Well it’s about time the Germans actually pulled there fingers out over defence

and started conducting themselves like they actually have a pair

:)

in a nato exercise in Norway the Germans had to use painted broom sticks to simulate guns on there tanks

than when that wonder line was involved there entire fleet of attack helecopters were grounded due to neglect

they have never pulled there weight considering they are the biggest economy in Europe
Now they have suddenly realised they need to man up

not before time either

EU unity over this Russian caper will start to fracture

and some of the nato country’s will turn out to be flaky when push comes to shove

Germanys constitution forbids it to engage in aggressive military action.
It can only act in defence.
It has been Germany's historic responsibilities that have prevented it from shipping arms to conflict zones, along with preventing other countries shipping German made arms to conflict zones.
The recent shift in German policy is a major historical change, and motivated by Germany's concern for peace in Europe.

Norway is an interesting EU place that isn't as far as I am aware. It's a member of EFTA. Some thought Brexit may finish up becoming similar. One big difference though. It would appear that their oil fields are state owned rather than being sold off as ours were.

 :)

Brexiteer Tory MP says it is ‘monstrous’ that British businesses now have to fill in forms to trade with EU

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/ukne...-forms-to-trade-with-eu/ar-AAUyUJS?li=BBoPWjQ

Good grief - they clearly didn't think they would have to do that. Too late anyway. We are out end of. It seems if we did an Norway and gone EFTA we could negotiate our own trade deals and other aspects. Just seems though - it's not an easy thing to bottom out.

Norway is also a member of the EEA, thus affiliated to the EU but with no say...

The UK didn't get anywhere near as good a deal!

Norway also have the world's biggest sovereign wealth fund...

Because they didn't spaff it up the wall on rich mates like thatcher did!
