We only have the word soup of the journalist to give us the impression that the police were investigating this as a (NCHI) hate crime.

I think you should check with West Yorkshire Police as to exactly what they have recorded it as. You have an elderly lady with an agenda telling her story to a journalist with an agenda & all of a sudden you have the narrative that feeds your mentall illness.
