I can assure you NO laws have been broken, for the uninitiated i am not going to try and explain POA, try googling it, driving hrs = about 7 per day.

He claims an average of 63 hours a week over the past 3-4 months. So laws are being broken or he's making it up. Truck drivers are dangerous enough as it is without them working long hours.

plus it also sounds like somebody did a HIP for him and never got paid which means somebody is short for Xmas.

I'm sure it will all sort itself out in the end.

Long story, short version.

I got a house i let out, when the tenant left i thought i would try and sell, arranged with agent that if it didn't sell i would put it back on to let, he was happy and said, when it did finally sell then i would be elligable for the cost of the HIPS as it was back then and their commision, fine by me, so over the last couple of yrs whenever the property was empty we would try and sell before i let it again, now the manager has moved on and this national company have decided to chase me for some dosh even though it has not sold..

Last company I worked for, I used to get back to their base (in Oldham) on a Friday evening about 10 o clock, then had to drive my car home (at least an hour and a half, sometimes two.) There's nothing illegal in me driving my car when I was up on my "driving hours" though. ;) ;)

elligable
Think you mean "liable". Anyway, ask them for a copy of the written and signed agreement which you can then scrutinise and hopefully it will confirm the HIPs payment being conditional and applicable solely upon completion of sale.

If they can't provide a written contract and state it was verbal then you too can make up a load of things you agreed to.

I've got the contract in front of me, part 2 states;

Free HIP with home conveyancing.
If you withdraw go multi agency, or in the other circumstanstes as set out in claus 6 of the HIP terms and conditions the standard HIP price of £xxx plus VAT becomes payable.

But you haven't withdrawn yet nor gone multi-agency. So what are these other circumstances in clause 6? Suspect this will be a load of fineprint which will be difficult to upload for perusal.

I had a reply from them this afternoon so things are progressing, thanks to cal for his assistance, the rest of you are like a pack of hyenas  now i know how the people felt in the Spanish Inquisition!

35 hours you worked, THIRTY FIVE HOURS. Not 63!!!!

You don't include shopping, driving to work, scratching yer nuts, reading the paper as WORKING!

What a laff.

And you reckon you paid £200 a week tax? That means a gross of £50000 per year. Youv'e already pulled one leg, now you are pulling the other one.

What a nobend.

Now pay yer debts and stop acting like Joe.
