Stupidly hot here, about 36 in the shade. Just dragged the cat home kicking and screaming! I asked nicely a few times today, ha, but wouldn't come back. Now she's home she's I think understood and has found a place to sleep in the cooler house.

That is cool compared to middle east temperatures

Got on the M5 at Bristol going northbound - glad I wasn't going south. They were queueing to get onto southbound, and motorway wasn't moving either. So, day on motorway, packed like sardines on SW beach somewhere for few days, then another day on motorway to get home. Why the feck do people do it to themselves?

We tried Whitby on Wednesday, it was rammed - drove in and straight back out to find somewhere quieter.

We usually try to avoid the peaks, but there was no choice this time. Never mind, found an absolutely great place to eat and another to never go there again.

It is, but I'm a lot older now compared to then and suffer more when it's very very hot!

It took 8 hours to service 4 hot tubs and the usual peripheral work such as setting all the clocks in the lodges, checking all the remotes had fresh batteries etc, etc simply didn't get done.
Hopefully Sunday/Monday it will be a lot cooler.

Is that at Center Parcs? We stayed in a 4 bed one with a hot tub outside and a sauna room about 10 years ago. There was a sign that said 'No food or drink in the hot tub' but after a few beers all of us blokes had glasses of wine in there with us and were floating big bowls of crisps and snacks to each other. Sorry!
