OK update. A Vaillant engineer came out and removed the flow restrictor. Now getting 13-14 l/min which I'm happy with. Thanks for all your help guys!
For reference, the flow restrictor is in the cold water inlet monoblock (the one with the CH diverter valve) and sits behind the filter.
btw Alec, I spoke to the plumber about a central blending valve. He didn't sound keen, suggesting that he'd normally put thermostatic valves at each point of delivery (i.e. under each sink). Your approach sounds more cost-effective to me. Perhaps if you could point to a model to use I could pass it on?
