It's an interesting one, because the way the public order act is drafted. Approval is with the Home Secretary, but the request has to come from the Police chief.
There is nothing illegal about a peace march to support the poor people of Gaza. The proposed route, certainly meets the criteria for restriction, but that is the Met chief's call not the Home Secretary.
