Why did they not have riot shields, batons etc. from my take on the thing she came at him from behind the media scrum who were soon scrapping and snapping away to get a shot.
Someone has a pop at you from behind, put them down so they can't have another go.

I don't think that video gives enough evidence for premeditation at best poor policing at worst a media setup.

I disagree - at best it's an infringement against our human rights to allow us to speed excessively, so that the government cas fine us and get £400million a year to pay for their expenses and pocket the rest......

I'm not disputing the nature of the demonstration or cause, and agree totally
with you about our human rights being diminished day by day.
But she was acting up whether for the media or for compensation, put it this way if you where in his position having to watch his back and that of his colleagues hmm I wonder.

Sorry Infidel - I was mucking about and referring to another thread. I forgot that others on here do actually have a life and don't necessarily troll around, like what I do

Back to this thread though - given that there were media about and given recent incidents of gross over-reaction by the police, I would have thought that using force in the way that he did was always going to be a particularly soft headed thing to do. She was giving him a load of verbal abuse no doubt, but he had plenty of time to disarm her of the potential "weapon" (carton of liquid) - from what I can make out, he nor anyone else removed this from her after the event anyway  - without having to backhand nor iron bar her.

Joe, your woman may be soft and gentle (that is, if there is a woman on the earth that would want to bone you) but women are just as dangerous as men.

15 years ago when I was a wee lad working in nightclubs, the doormen were actually more scared of the angry women than the blokes. I've seen some nasty attacks in my time.

We are talking about a specific incident. Would you do what that copper did?

The majority of the people here agree the copper did the right thing, so on that note i'd say yes and so would they if put in a similar position.

get over it, some women like that sort of thing joee.

No wonder domestic violence is so widespread in our society. Only one sick copper out of thousands behaved like a sick bully - yet you support him. Obviously his colleagues hold a different opinion or they would have done likewise.
