Typical thick copper
Wonder if you were in the night club in London when the typical thick copper disabled the bomb in the small hours.

if you steam right on through a red light and carry on then yes you will. if you pull forward through a red light to let one pass you wont.

just remember the police have a duty to save life first and foremost and often they will attend incidents to help do so. They dont put on the emergency equipment to go for their tea

not even if their on a promise

firstly, it wasn't a copper that disarmed the bomb.. it was bomb disposal..

secondly.. the main priority of the police is to meet targets..

ambulance and fire crews save lives.. police just chase people for not wearing a seat belt or for carrying a table leg in a plastic bag..

major car crash.. the police are there to direct traffic wile the fire crews cut the survivors out and the ambulance crews deal with the injured..

my friend's van had it's door ripped off when parked outside his home by a drunk driver who then hit a lamppost... he called the police while the driver was there, and the police asked if he or the driver was hurt, he said no and they said that they'd be there in an hour or so to take details..

he said that they'd better send an ambulance first then as he was going to kick the crap out of the driver.. they were there inside of 5 mins giving him a warning for threatening behavior..

likewise, a neighbour caught a guy aged about 23 trying to break into the house opposite him and held him until the police arrived.. who then said that as he didn't actually get into the house they couldn't do anything..

he told the smarmy little git as he started to walk off that if he saw him round our street again he'd beat the hell out of him.. at which point the copper said "I wish you hadn't said that.. now I've got to arrest YOU.. " again for threatening behavior..

Watching the video it does seem that the driver wasn't using their brain when assessing the driving speed and the situation, the fact that the driver was a police officer just adds to the suggestion that he or she didn't use reason or their wits, now all the damage caused this time was just to a public vehicle which as a taxpayer I will have to pay towards it's repair  but supposing a child had been crossing the road (obviously not the flooded one) and that officer had swung round the corner like that god knows what may have happened.
It does look like he or she was being a bit bravado in their driving, I do get the impression sometimes that they love all the attention they get from members of the public as they speed along especially if they have their siren blasting away.

I have been a victim of police...not brutality but police over exhuberanse (sic).

When attacked in Harrow buy a guy who split my head open, me and my wife (and the attacker) were taken to Harrow nick. Seperately of course.

So, we arrive (in an ambulance as I wanted to make a statement before nurses stitched me up)

I walk into Harrow nick, go into the interview room and the first words of the pc are "look at the size of you, you hit him hard eh" (I cant help weight training for 15 years,)

"No, he layed his nut on me and thats why I want to press charges"

PC "nah mate, you have thrown the first punch. Witnesses have said so"

"What witnesses" I said?

PC "Get in a cell...we will interview in the morning when you have calmed down."

And guess what... Ive sued them for a 4 figure sum.

SO SOFTUS, COPPERS MAY NOT BE THICK BUT THEY ARE DOWN RIGHT STUPID.

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune, but I don't agree with your generalisation.

Coppers must be stupid, not for the reasons which have been branded about on here, but for the crap they have to put up with from the general public, English or otherwise, they deserve alot more money to police this place. is it worth getting stabed/shot/beating up, mmm I think not

ps the armed forces should get a hell of alot more as well imho.

You seem to be equating being underpaid with being stupid. Do you think the same of nurses?

ps the armed forces should get a hell of alot more as well imho.
Are they also stupid markie?

They should get paid alot more aswell, not only for the work they do but for the crap they take off the general publics I'm not arguing with you, been there and got the T-shirt  ;)

I'm not arguing with you either - I'm only asking if you think that nurses and members of the armed forces are stupid. Or is it just the police?

Interesting.

So what action would you recommend to any stupid (sic.) and underpaid PC/WPC, or nurse, or member of the armed forces who might be reading this?

How would they go about becoming 'cleverer'?
