I used to employ an old lady in Birmingham, there really was no need to but I just couldn't help myself from finding any excuse to chat with her over the phone.
She had a giggle to die for, a bit like Elaine Paige's & she really knew how to float my boat. This went on for months without me ever meeting her, never having a reason to drive from Ivory Towers to that branch in Brum.
Then one day it happened, I parked the car & burst through the doors proclaiming "Aha, prepare thy ghast to be flabberred", only to be greeted by this grey dwarf well past her prime in her late 60's.
We DO get on & I still rank her as one of my favourite people of all time in the whole wide world. Her life story is just as interesting as mine & just like me . . . she tolerates no fools.
