I drove to France last week and despite what the anti-Brexit scaremongers on here said……

Why should France deal with the UK any differently than any other 'third country'?
Absolutely f'ck all to do with dealing with the U.K. They should be dealing with those that are in their country illegally and not claiming asylum.

If we had illegals here and we knew about them, would we let them just remain indefinitely while they tried to get the money together to pay a smuggler to get them out and into their country of choice? Why don’t those that get caught overstating just say "You can’t deport me, I am waiting for nice people trafficker gang to get me out of country"?

Ah, so we should not be talking with France about the problem in your book?

But the problem is not only France and not only Europe wide, it is Worldwide!

And like it or not the UK has been a part of the problem and continues to be so...

When will you accept that?

Couple of mates just back from Benidorm said a noticeable number of smaller bars are completely shut or opening restricted hours . Because they cannot get staff . Will the Spanish put pressure on the government seeing as tourism is their no 1 industry

This is a thread about me driving to France and encountering none of the problems that you said we would encounter by leaving the EU. Namely:
I wasn’t held up by the French border control/passport staff.
I didn’t need an international driving permit
I didn’t need a green card for my insurance
I didn’t need a EHIC card because that had been replaced with a GHIC card
I enjoyed free roaming on my mobile.
Stop trying to change the thread and admit you were wrong, you failed remoaning scaremongering prophet!

Anecdotal of course...

And you're the one who doesn't like the relevant truths being pointed out to you!

So you will no doubt be able to tell us why your trip didn't cost you more after the referendum given the pre brexit/post brexit pound vs Euro exchange rates?

I ain't the 'scaremongering prophet'...

You're the one clutching at non existent straws!

If you never had the money in the first place, the choice wasn’t an option and is nothing to do with Brexit so what choice exactly has been thrown away?

Maybe the Brits who live in mobile homes on very basic/state pension on The Costas who managed to get established before Brexit (see Bargain Loving Brits In The Sun) may disagree. We'll also have to agree to disagree too.

Have you moved in to your house in France yet?

What happens to the migrants from Africa if they are in France for more than 3 months?

They get in a dinghy - destination UK. To escape war-torn Calais and oppression from blokes in stripey jumpers selling onions and a forced diet of snails and bits of frogs. Thankfully our brave Border Force and lifeboatmen will rescue them from this Gallic hell. :giggle:

Unfortunately the sale fell through due to surveyor finding some structural problems. Have a few other irons in the fire.
Bad luck, old chip. Keep the Home Fires burning, say i.
I wondered if you'd moved there and could give a bird's eye view, so to speak.

Has anyone seen any change at all in their day to day life ?
